Professional dance academy, Dance Ville makes historic outing with the performance of Queen Amina of Zazzau penultimate week in the city of Uyo.
Specifically on March 23, 2019, the ‘citizens of Dance Ville’ as they are fondly called staged an adaptation of Wale Oqunyemi’s ‘Queen Amina Of Zazzau’ at the Model theatre, University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The play, directed and choreographed by Edima Imara was woven with the mind blowing dancing and story telling music Dance Ville is known for.
The story of Queen Amina is a tale of a warrior queen who conquered lands in war and men in bed. Stage plays of this nature are seen in major cities and on big screens, but Edima and her crew did the incredible in a clime once looked down upon.
Amina was played by Princess Paulinus, other cast include Geraldine James, Marvel Philips, Idongesit Udoh, Bruno Rapheal, Emmanuel Omolewa who were outstanding amongst others.
Queen Amina of Zazzau will be staged again due to popular demand in May 2019. It will come with the crowd favourites: the war scene, the seduction scene and more.
